Mermaid Amigurumi

Worsted yarn in four colors (skin, shirt, tail, hair), plus scraps of desired colors for eyes and mouth
2.75mm hook (or any yarn/hook combination that makes stitches tight enough to conceal the stuffing!)
Stuffing (polyfil, yarn scraps, fabric scraps, etc)

Work in continuous rounds, unless otherwise specified

ARMS:
With skin color, make a magic loop
Rd 1: in loop, sc 6 (6)
Rd 2-12: sc around (6)
Rd 13: ch 1, turn, sc 1
Tie off, leaving long tail (to attach to body)

HEAD/BODY/TAIL
With skin color, make a magic circle
Rd 1: In the circle, chain 1, sc 6 (6)
Rd 2: sc 2 in each stitch (12)
Rd 3: [sc 1, sc 2 in next stitch] repeat around (18)
Rd 4: [sc 1 in each of next 2, sc 2 in next stitch] repeat around (24)
Rd 5: [sc 1 in each of next 3, sc 2 in next stitch] repeat around (30)
Rd 6-11: sc around

Row 2: ch 1 turn, hdc 1 in each of next 2, dc 1 in each of next 5
Row 3: ch 3, turn, dc 1 in each of next 4, hdc 1 in each of next 3, sc 1

Fin 2 – continuing from Fin 1 without tying off
Row 1, starting in next chain stitch on your original chain, sc 1, hdc 1 in each of next 2, dc 1 in each of next 5
Row 2: ch 3, turn, dc 1 in each of next 4, hdc 1 in each of next 2, sc 1
Row 3: ch 1, turn, hdc 1 in each of next 3, dc 1 in each of next 5

Tie off, weave in ends

Use long tail and the end of the TAIL to attach fins
Use long tail at end of ARMS to attach arms to body
